Shame–where have you gone?
We often hear people say, “Doesn’t (some lost soul who’s making a fool of themselves) have any shame?”
No, they don’t.
But I rarely hear anyone say, “Don’t I–or we–have any shame?”
I mean, think about this: We are supposedly intelligent beings, and we certainly consider ourselves pretty smart, for the most part. And yet we are being ruled by utter fools!
So who is the bigger fool?
I can see the folly of the typical intellectual, left-wing fool. They have rejected a connection to God–the Source of wisdom. So all they have left is their own foolish musings, which always bring disaster in the end.
But what is OUR excuse?
We supposedly have not rejected God (uh, I would double-check that!).
We have the Bible, and the Declaration, and the Constitution, and hard work, and families, and friends just like us, right?
Now, you could say, “There’s nothing wrong with us!” WE should be in power! THEY stole the election!”
And I would say, “True, they did steal the election, but I could also say that the election was ripe to steal. I could say that we have known for years–decades–that our election process was rotten, and yet we did very little to safeguard it. Isn’t that foolish?
But let’s take a step back from this election and think about all of the deadbeats that we’ve put into office over the years. “But they LIED to us!” They said one thing to get elected, and then switched on us!”
“True,” I would say. But we let ourselves be fooled. Basically, we didn’t want to do the work, so we let those who were enthusiastic–or at least appeared that way–do the work of leading.
Read Deuteronomy 28 some time, where it speaks of blessings and curses, as they relate to a nation either ruling or being ruled. The problem before us is all there. First, a sample of the blessings a nation will receive if they love and obey God:
The LORD will make you the head and not the tail; you will only move upward and never downward, if you hear and carefully follow the commandments of the LORD your God, which I am giving you today. Do not turn aside to the right or to the left from any of the words I command you today, and do not go after other gods to serve them.
Deuteronomy 28:13-14
Hmmm… “Do not go after other gods and serve them.” There are many “other gods” we have served… And here’s a sample of the curses a nation will bring upon themselves if they forsake God:
Because you did not serve the LORD your God with joy and gladness of heart in all your abundance, you will serve your enemies the LORD will send against you in famine, thirst, nakedness, and destitution. He will place an iron yoke on your neck until He has destroyed you.
Deuteronomy 28:47-48
WE have p—-d away the greatest nation there has ever been. Let me repeat: WE have done this. It was not taken from us. We have corrupted from within, and until we face this squarely and quit blaming the Left for doing what the godless naturally do, we will continue to slide.
The answer is to simply look at OURSELVES, and to stop blaming those who are acting as their perverse nature dictates! THEY are not going to change! And they have no intention of taking their foot off of our necks! In fact, they intend to STOMP HARDER!
I’m going to close with a famous quote by a man who was not even a Christian, yet his words are a meditation for our time–a time to stop the blame game and look hard in the mirror:
“BE the change that you wish to see in the world.” –Gandhi
A little humility is all that is needed from us, and I believe that God would be more than happy to step in and heal our land.
Stop the huffing and puffing about what you are going to do–nothing else is going to work, if it doesn’t include true humility before our Creator.
