Hello All!
I’m going LIVE tonight to deal with an underreported side of the Jesse Lee Peterson scandal: The “theology” that he pushes conveniently excuses his own sins, i.e.: “Anger is the only sin,” “Of yourself you can do nothing” (so don’t worry about continuing in sin, God will “clean up your heart,” and at some point will clean up your actions too!).
This is very dangerous, taken to the extremes that he has taken this “theology” to, which includes homosexual grooming / predatory behavior, and a bizarre and wicked use of spiritual language and techniques to satisfy his base urges. Peterson has been credibly accused of these moral crimes.
Without admitting publicly to these acts, Peterson’s has slyly and subtly altered his message as the heat on him grows. As the Bible and the 10 Commandments are used to point out his sins, Jesse is now saying that “Everybody a Bible thumper now!” and that we need to “separate the man from the message.”
In reality, the man needs to be separated from his Christian church, which he continues to use for its tax benefit while he now tells his congregation not to call him “reverend” anymore because “I’m just like you.”
Yes, there is some good in Peterson’s message, but he has twisted even most of the good points. Further, in its truest sense, Christianity is about BEING the message! Certainly, Christian ministers are called to be MORAL men! Jesus called the Scribes and Pharisees “hypocrites” for feigning good behavior while their hearts and hidden actions were wicked.
Tonight we will be discussing these issues, and I’m happy to take your questions too. As I have said many times, I have my own fault in engaging in a wrong relationship with this person, and I have had to face God and my family and renounce these actions. Today, my life is one hundred percent better for doing this!
Hopefully, for the sake of his own soul, Jesse Lee Peterson will truly repent to God and come clean before his “congregation.” Peterson has told his followers “Don’t tell your wife” if you commit adultery. The Bible says to “confess your sins to one another.” Exposure helps heal, while hiding your own sins while exhorting others not to do them is the ultimate in hypocrisy!
As time goes by, Jesse Lee Peterson continues to lose credibility, moral standing, employees, and congregation. And he is in danger of losing the most important thing of all–his SOUL!
