I ran the “Turkey Trot” 5K, put on by the YMCA of Grants Pass, OR, which featured a lot of colorful costumes, and fun for all ages. I thought I’d give you a first-person POV.. just because.
I’m no runner, and signed up for the race knowing it would cause me to train and improve my cardio, and because I like competing. I’m glad I did. How’d I do? Well, isn’t that what the video will tell you?
I CAN tell you that there are some very fast young people out there, young men AND young women. And I can also encourage you, as an older person (I’m 64), to take good care of yourself, and don’t let life pass you by, or turn into a couch potato!
Every day that you breathe is a gift, and I was proud to “suit up” and compete on Thanksgiving day morning, November 28, 2024. I hope you are thankful EVERY day.
Kudos to the Grants Pass YMCA for putting this event on, and its Sponsors. And a toast to all you racers–young and old, male and female, healthy and “challenged,” for giving getting out on a cold (34 degrees) morning in the beautiful Rogue Valley, Oregon. Tip ‘o the Irish hat!
