I’ve been “meditating” quite a bit lately about the potential for misuse of meditation. I’m aware that many do so to realize themselves as God. This has been popular for some time in what we used to call the “new age” movement. God knows what they call it now. It should be called the “me” movement!
I used to differentiate these meditators from Judeo-Christian meditators, who I believed meditate to realize that they are NOT God, and that the world doesn’t revolve around them. There are many sincere practitioners of this form of meditation, but it’s recently occurred to me that some have fallen into the same trap as the “me” meditators.
In other words, some practicing Judeo-Christian meditation are consciously or unconsciously using the meditation to attempt to will changes in themselves and others instead of letting GOD effect the changes.
Meditation should allow the practitioner to see themselves more objectively. But in some cases, this does not appear to be happening, no matter how sincere the practitioner appears to be.
I’m starting to believe that one reason for this is that perhaps they have an unknown-to-themselves goal of becoming some type of “super apostle”–much like Paul described in the New Testament.
I know that those who are pursuing this path would steadfastly disagree that they are doing this, but something is up. Something is not right. A self-blindness is evident–even to “untrained” eyes–people who don’t meditate at all.
Now granted, those who lack self-awareness are likely the same people who start off “pre”-meditation with low self-awareness, and have existing mental-spiritual issues. It’s often been said that a church is a kind of “spiritual hospital”–those with issues are most likely to be attracted there.
I have found that typically these people have come from an upbringing that served to destroy their original self. Of course, most of us are in this category, but perhaps they have been destroyed more completely. I don’t know, and admit this is a speculation. But could their exercise of meditation and its promise of a kind of ascension be more tantalizing, according to the degree they have been destroyed? And could the practice of meditation–if used for the wrong purpose (knowingly or unknowingly) be actually making them WORSE by building up a false sense of ascension?
This is a sobering question to ponder. But it needs to be considered. There are just too many souls out there stuck going the wrong way, while thinking they’re reaching a lofty state.
I have seen staunch meditators engage in activities that clearly cause unnecessary division, instead of serving to build UP the community of believers (which Paul warned against in his New Testament writings), without a seeming hint of awareness of this reality. While at the same time, they give the impression of believing they having ascended well beyond the average person in terms of spiritual awareness.
How would true ascension cause MORE chaos?!
It’s a head scratcher. I don’t understand the whole picture yet. It’s a sad thing to see too, as the people I see falling into this trap appear to be well-meaning and quite sincere. Some have been my friends.
This is the part of the post where typically I might offer a solution to wrap things up on a positive note. Only this time I don’t have a ready solution. I don’t know how to make someone more self-aware–I’m not God!
Seeing friends swayed by blind but convincing people has pained me greatly, but I’ve had to let it go. They must go their way–at least for now–and I just hope that at some point they will actually see themselves and their hidden motives.
The “super apostle” will always speak with assurance, and try to convince others they are the one with the truth saving the blind masses. But Jesus said, “Look at the FRUIT of the tree.” Do they have stable, fruitful lives, with good family relations, with good friends? Are they making a real difference in their community? Do they tend to INSPIRE others? Are they in leadership of anything, or just throwing stones at those who are? In other words, are they a POSITIVE presence, or a subversive one?
Meanwhile, I’ve had no choice but to stop feeding their need for attention, and to just continue going my own way.
As someone who grew up a “middle child,” I have always navigated between people of different perspectives, but there comes a point where we cannot be a party to those settling personal scores in the name of “courage” and “truth.” It’s so easy to hide behind “noble” intentions.
Who I am and who I am NOT is starting to become defined for me. It’s an important step in growing up. Sometimes we do have to take a stand–to be willing to say, “No, I will not be moved from the ground I am standing on. Because I can see it is solid ground. And you will not move me with the force of your will.”
For more information on Judeo-Christian meditation, go here. It is an amazing spiritual tool, to help us connect to God and find peace–but like all great tools, it can be abused. We must be willing to handle it with the respect it deserves. I believe our intent–overt or hidden–will determine the true value we gain from the tool, and consequently the true value we will offer to others.
The fruit we produce–good or bad–will soon enough become evident to all.

Patrick is, of course, speaking primarily of myself and Fabian. If someone commits a crime in the physical world, their name is public knowledge The apostle Paul called out the false Christians in his churches that he founded by name. He named who it was as did Jesus, the ancient prophets and the apostles. It is not gossip to call out who exactly you think is doing wrong. Especially if you have already gone to them in person with your complaint against them. Now you were doing your duty to warn others about their dishonest behavior. So I counter accuse if that’s the right wording, Patrick and Alan and David of supporting Donald Trump as if he is some prophet from God, come to save America.
I will not join hands and sing Kumbaya about the virtues of Donald Trump. No, Christian should be supporting a man who openly and without shame, promotes the LGBTQ community and transgenders. Have you heard Trump speak against the private parts of children being cut off in the name of transgender ism or whatever ism applies? Has he called homosexuality a mental illness? Romans chapter 1 says that the homosexual hates God. Trump surrounds himself with female pastors and liberal advisers in his former cabinet. When are you promoters of Trump going to get a clue? With AI coming on board, nano technology and bio weapons among other financial means, we need to be trying to save the last few souls who can be saved. There’s not going to be a political solution. True men of God understand this. Donald Trump is nothing more than controlled opposition as is Fox News. A little sidebar. This is not going to happen but a law needs to be passed, so that any news organization may not have advertisers. They may only have paying subscribers. That way the people who support them, who watch them and pay for their service are the people they are accountable to. Why hasn’t the clot shot that Trump supports been blown up on the media?
Mostly because the pharma industry is their number one advertiser.
The same with social media. No more advertisers only subscribers. I would go so far as to say no more advertising for any type of broadcasting.
Make a social media platform for advertisers only to push their products. The social media platform would do nothing but run ads for advertisers and whatever type of product you needed you would go to this platform and you would have all the advertisers who advertise about that product on the same platform. I may not be a super prophet but I think that is a super solution.
Thanks, Martin. I wish you well.
Thank you, Brian. Yes, this “super apostle” conceot is something Paul discussed in one of his New Testament letters. It stuck with me as I was seeing current examples of same. And yes it is ironic that a “super apostle” would be involved in something that hurts and divides people. But the Devil is so crafty, and we can be so blind.
I’m fascinated by your article and believe you are touching on a very subtle and sensitive topic.
You’re describing something I’ve sensed before, but could never actually put into words.
The “super apostle” is really an insightful way of describing these individuals who have gone off-course and have lost awareness of themselves.
These individuals often have a “moral message” that has been weaponized to divide people, all under the banner of good intentions.
If you are referring to me Patrick, you may wish to consider, the meditation is to separate us from evil, which controls us in our thoughts and imaginations. Yes, it’s done to see ourselves, then we see others and the world more clearly, and have the right to critique it, in hopes some will see and repent. Jesus told us to love as he loved us, and he also had some quite harsh words at times, especially in Revelation for some of the churches. When the fhu leadership does what it does to subvert some extremely important obvious truths, it should be called out. And when they and you censor and block people like me, for simply rebutting praises for a betrayer, only as it occurred, then something is indeed very wrong. That is the m.o. of the left, not conservatives.
Thank you
And I in no way think or protray myself as a ” super apostle. ” I’m just being me, with the grace that God is giving me. I am honest and i do have some very dear friends, not many, but that is ok, and I am making a difference in people’s lives, promoting truths and the Christian meditation widely in social media. I was corrected by Roy a few years back, as I left bond with a little of Jesse’s demon, believing that I had indeed crossed over to salvation, as Roy had and of course many others, and as Jesse has been lying all these years saying he had. So a weight was taken off of me to see that I had not, and i still had buried anger against bullies. This acceptance and getting over that, gives me the right and accuracy to correct what I see in this crazy world, at times. But I know I must never look down on anyone, and I have even asked for Trump to repent. It would be good.
Okay, Fabian, I’m approving your statement for publication. My post stands. Let the reader–and ultimately God–judge our actions and motivations. I will not say more, will not engage in an unending back and forth, and don’t plan on approving more statements from you here. You’ve had your say. You, Martin, and others are free to continue posting your comments on your own platforms, as am I. No hard feelings. I take issue with much of what you guys are doing–from my vantage point there’s a major destructive element involved that you don’t see, but that’s for you to hopefully ponder at some point. I wish you guys well.
